Costello welcomes planned refurbishment of Bridewell Garda station

I welcome today’s announcement that the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin 7 is to undergo a major refurbishment. 

It was announced today as part of the new Garda Siochana Building & Refurbishment Programme 2016 – 2021. 

I am pleased that the Bridewell is benefitting from this new plan.  It is one of the busiest Garda stations in the country.  The refurbishment will enhance the existing policing service in our local community, and it should be something we can be proud of when the work is completed.  

It’s just one of many projects around the country that were given a green light in the very positive €60 million package of developments for the Gardai announced today.

Overall the investment will allow us to provide new stations and modernise older ones, ensuring we have a 21^st century network of Garda stations that are critical to delivering an effective policing service and to tackling crime.
